Eligibility Criteria
Every student who has secured passing marks in the senior secondary exam from the science stream can appear for JEE Main exam. However, for a student to get admission in NITs, CFTIs, and IITs, they must secure a minimum of 75%.
On the other hand, for students to be eligible for JEE Advanced exam, they need to qualify for JEE Main exams and be among the top 20 lakh candidates.
Number Of Attempts And Age Limit
JEE Main exam does not have any limitation on the number of attempts. However, students can sit for the JEE Advanced exam for a minimum of 2 years in a row.
There is no age-based limitation for candidates to appear for the JEE Main exam. On the other hand, for candidates to appear in the JEE Advanced exam, they must be under the age of 25. However, 5-year age relaxation is provided to students belonging to SC, ST, and PWD categories.
Mode Of Exam
The JEE Main exam has two papers. The first paper is for B.Tech and B.E. and is conducted online. The second paper is for B. Arch and B. Planning, conducted offline through a pen and paper-based mode.

Distribution Of Marks

On the other hand, the JEE Advanced exam consists of 54 multiple choice questions carrying 306 marks, which are divided into two papers and three topics; Math, Physics, and Chemistry.

The JEE Main exam syllabus consists of Maths, Physics, and Chemistry topics for Classes 11 and 12. On the other hand, JEE Advanced exam syllabus consists of the same syllabus, including certain extra topics.
