There are various scientific programs and scholarships that the students can choose from, and Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is one of them.
What is KVPY Exam?
The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana 2022 is a national-level fellowship program initiated in 1999 by the Department of Science and Technology. The purpose of beginning this program was to encourage students to take up research careers in Basic Sciences, Medicine, and Engineering. The exam awards fellowship under three streams – SA, SX, and SB, respectively up to the pre-Ph.D. level.
Generous fellowship is granted to the selected KVPY 2022 candidates up to the pre Ph.D. level or 5 years whichever is earlier.

Monetary Benefits of the KVPY Exam
On clearing the KVPY exam, applicants will receive a scholarship from 1st year only after their graduation. The scholars will receive Rs 5000 monthly from 1st to 3rd year of B.Sc/ B.Stat/B.S./B.Math/ Integrated M.S/M.Sc and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 20,000. After three years the scholarship is enhanced to Rs. 7,000 per month during M.Sc/ 4th & 5th year of Integrated M.S./M.Sc. and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 28,000.
