The following information can help you devise an effective strategy to achieve a phenomenal percentile score in JEE (Main).

HIGHEST PRIORITY CHAPTERS:

SUBJECT-WISE STRATEGY:

Physics: To score in physics you have to be fast, accurate and smart. Using discretion and picking up the right questions during the exam is very important and should form a part of your exam strategy

Chemistry: Maximum attempt with maximum accuracy is required. Chemistry is highly scoring if preparation is strong. All three parts, Organic, Inorganic & Physical should be given equal weightage.

Mathematics: Cover the syllabus thoroughly. Solve as many time-bound problems as possible during practice sessions. Solve previous years’ question papers to understand the types of questions asked.

6-WEEK PREPARATION PLAN FOR JEE (MAIN) 2020:

  • Make a proper schedule

The first step towards a planned preparation plan for JEE (Main) 2020 starts with a well-planned study schedule. A good study schedule consists of a subject-wise proper distribution of chapters according to their weightage. This not only ensures disciplined preparation but also effective management of time. Additionally, always start revising the important chapters first. While revising your chapters, also revise what you have already learned so that your mind can retain it for longer. Apart from that, dedicate time to solving at least one mock test a day.

  • Understand the application of concepts, formulas, & equations

Only knowledge of concepts or memorizing the formulas or equations will not suffice when it’s about qualifying the JEE (Main) exam. You need to learn how to apply the concepts to problems. You need to understand how to use the formulas or solve the equations. For that, it is imperative to practice the application of concepts, formulas & equations by solving as many questions as possible.

  • Practice previous years’ question papers

Solving previous years’ question papers not only familiarize you with the exam pattern, types of questions asked, difficulty level, etc. but also helps you identify your weak areas. Additionally, you can evaluate your level of preparation; determine the time spent on each question and work on your speed and accuracy. Competitive exams are all about speed and accuracy and so is JEE (Main) exam. Hence, great speed and accuracy can give you an edge over others.

  • Focus on both class XI & XII NCERT Syllabus

JEE (Main) exam is based on class XI & XII NCERT syllabus. Hence, your preparation plan for JEE (Main) 2020 should focus on the revision of both.  Practice as many questions as possible and be thorough with the concepts of both class XI & XII.

  • Improve weak areas

Solving previous years’ question papers and mock tests can help identify areas you are weak in. With more than a month to go, you can improve on your weaknesses by understanding the concepts along with their appropriate application. To enhance your application of concepts, you must practice and practice hard. With thorough practice, you may be able to convert your weaknesses into your strengths.

  • Analyze your mistakes

After solving a mock test or previous year paper or writing any test, carefully analyze your errors. Understand the reason behind committing the mistake. Go through the correct solution of the same step by step. Doing this will help you learn from your mistake so that you don’t repeat it in the future.

  • Buy Test Series

Your preparation plan for JEE (Main) 2020 must include Test Series. Test Series is a set of question papers exclusively designed to familiarize students with all the possible varieties of questions along with the various ways in which the same question can be asked. Hence, it is essential for a student to buy a test series. Students should keep in mind that the JEE exam does not test you on routine problems. It tests higher order thinking skills through complex problems. Test Series can help develop your skills by introducing to different types of questions.
