Formerly known as the Junior Science Talent Search Exam (JSTSE), MVPP aims to identify and nurture young talents. The examination, conducted by the Science Branch of the Directorate of Education in Delhi between January and March, requires applicants to have secured at least 60% marks in Class 8. Additionally, a 5% relaxation in marks is provided to students belonging to SC/ST and PH categories. Qualified candidates within the top 1000 (category-wise) are eligible for a one-time scholarship of Rs.5000/- along with a certificate.
The examination comprises two papers: the Mental Ability Test (MAT), covering Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Data Interpretation, and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), encompassing subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Civics, History, Economics, and Geography. Both papers consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and carry a total of 100 marks each, with a duration of 120 minutes for each paper.
