JEE Advanced is conducted annually for students who have qualified JEE Mains, organized by one of the IITs. While JEE Main serves as the entry point for several National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other central engineering colleges in India, JEE Advanced is the sole prerequisite for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). However, students must first clear JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced.
In 2024, a total of 180,200 candidates appeared for both papers 1 and 2 in JEE Advanced, out of which 48,248 candidates qualified.
