The National Science Olympiad NSO is a national-level science exam designed for students in Classes 1 to 12 who want to challenge their reasoning skills, testing their scientific application and higher-order thinking. Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) is responsible for organizing the National Science Olympiad each year.
Steps to check: NSO Result 2025-26 Level 1

- Click on the section titled “National Science Olympiad 2025-26” Results
- Enter your roll number and other required details in the given form.

SOF NSO 2025-26 Level 1 Exam Dates & Result:
NSO Level 1 is held on three different dates
- SET A – November 13, 2025
- SET B – November 27, 2025
- SET C – December 11, 2025

- SOF announced NSO Level 1 results for 2025-26 online and through schools.
- Qualified students can appear for NSO Level 2 on Feb 8, 2026 nationwide.
- Maharashtra students will take NSO Level 2 on Feb 15, 2026.
NSO Level 2 Date of Examination
For Students who is qualify for the NSO Level 1 exam will be able to appear for the NSO Level 2 exam in 2026. As per the schedule date announced by the SOF, the Level 2 exam will take place on 8th February, 2026.
For Maharashtra students, the date for the Level 2 exam has been rescheduled. For the state, the date for the exam has been rescheduled to February 15, 2026.
The SOF will also be releasing further information about the Level 2 exam, including eligibility list, exam rules, and other details, in the coming weeks. It is hereby advised to students and parents to check the official website of the SOF from time to time for any latest updates about the Olympiad exams.
How Many Levels Are There in the NSO Exam?
This NSO Olympiad is a two-stage exam, and after qualifying for Level 1, students have to attempt Level 2 to achieve merit rank and prizes. The SOF NSO is carried out on three dates for Level 1 , with schools choosing one date for their students.
Students from grades 1st to 12th are eligible to take part in Level 1 Olympiad. Level 2 is an Aptitude Test for selected students from Classes 3 to 12. There is no Level 2 for Classes 1 and 2. Students from Classes 1 & 2 are selected strictly on the basis of performance in Level 1.

NSO 2025–26 was mainly intended for students wishing to evaluate their aptitude for science and academics.
NSO Achievers Awards:
Classes one and two – International & Zonal topper awards/scholarships will be provided to 1st-level winners, as exams for these classes are single-level exams.
Class topper awards/scholarships will be provided to 1st-level winners for all exams.
Classes three to twelve – International & Zonal topper awards/scholarships will be provided to 2nd-level winners.

- Rank 1 – ₹50,000 + International Gold Medal + Certificate of Outstanding Performance
- Rank 2 – ₹25,000 + International Silver Medal + Certificate of Outstanding Performance

NOTE: In case two or more students achieve the same international rank, the cash award/scholarship in the applicable category will be distributed as under:
For up to 10 students getting the same rank, award/scholarship amount will be distributed equally. In addition, each winner will be awarded/provided a medal (in the applicable category) and a Certificate.
In case 11 or more students get the same rank, in lieu of cash award/scholarship, each winner will be awarded/provided a scholarship of gifts worth Rs.1,000/- each + a medal ( in the applicable category) and a Certificate.

NSO 2025-26 Level 1:
- Rank 1 to 25 : Medal of Distinction + Certificate of Distinction + Student Progress Report.
- Rank (26+) : Participation Certificate + Student Progress Report .
NSO 2025-26 Level 2:
- Rank 1 : ₹ 5000/- + Zonal Gold Medal*+ Certificate of Zonal Excellence
- Rank 2 : ₹ 2500/- + Zonal Silver Medal*+ Certificate of Zonal Excellence
- Rank 3 : ₹ 1000/- + Zonal Bronze Medal*+ Certificate of Zonal Excellence

Students from Class 3 to Class 12 may qualify for Level 2 based on:
- Top 5% performers in each class at the national level
- Top 25 rank holders from each zone and class
- Class toppers from schools with at least 10 students participating (with a minimum score of 50%)
5. Will I receive a physical copy of my NSO result or certificate?
Yes, all participants will get a certificate of participation or excellence through their respective schools and a Student Performance Report (SPR). Awards and medals (if applicable) will also be dispatched post result declaration.
