The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) oversees the allocation of MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing seats and is expected to publish the official National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 counselling schedule by July 6. Following the NEET UG 2024 retest results announcement on July 1 by the National Testing Agency (NTA), aspiring candidates are keen to understand the upcoming counselling process.
Why a Retest?
The NEET UG 2024 exam, initially held on May 5, faced allegations of malpractices and irregularities in the scoring process. Concerns about inflated scores due to ‘grace marks’ prompted a retest on June 23 for 1,563 affected candidates. Out of these, 813 candidates took the retest, while the remaining 48% opted to keep their original scores, excluding the grace marks. As per the retest results, the number of NEET UG toppers decreased from 67 to 61.
Revised Merit List and Counselling Schedule
The NTA will soon publish the revised merit list on its official website. The MCC is expected to release a comprehensive NEET UG counselling schedule on their official website at mcc.nic.in, along with an information bulletin outlining the entire process. This schedule will include crucial details such as registration dates, required documents, and the number of counselling rounds conducted.
