The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET UG 2024 results, revealing a significant increase in the cut-off scores and a record number of top-ranking students. This year, the cut-off for general and general-PH category candidates has risen from 720-137 last year to 720-164. Remarkably, 67 students have shared the all-India rank 1, each scoring a 99.997129 percentile.

Increase in Cut-Off Scores
For the general category, the cut-off increase reflects the competitive nature of the exam. Similarly, for scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), and other backward class (OBC) candidates, the cut-off has risen from 136-107 to 163-129. For SC, ST, and OBC-PH candidates, the cut-off increased from 120-107 to 145-129.

NEET UG Percentile and Cut-Off Determination
The NEET cut-off for MBBS and BDS courses for general category candidates is at the 50th percentile, while for OBC, SC, and ST candidates, it is at the 40th percentile. The NTA determines the NEET UG percentile based on the highest marks scored in the all-India common merit list.
