Eligibility: The candidates must have passed in the 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as the main streams. Once again, this depends on the category; general, OBC, SC/ST.

Entrance Exam: The eligibility criterion of the institute is through JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Main rank. Candidates who have passed JEE Main only are only eligible to attend the counselling process.

Counselling Process: The counselling as well as the seat allocation process is done by the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). Like all other NITs, the candidates must undergo counselling sessions to be admitted to NIT Delhi after the declaration of the results.

Postgraduate Courses

Eligibility: The candidates should have a B.Tech/BE degree in the concerned stream from any recognised university with 60 % marks.

Entrance Exam: This body offers admission to M.Tech programs for its various colleges through GATE scores. Selected candidates are invited to the counselling process and seat matrix.

Doctoral Programs (Ph.D.)
