NIFTEM is a Deemed University located at Sonipat, Haryana and stands for National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management. It is an organization owned by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI) of India. In the year 2021, the Government of India has awarded the status of “Institute of National Importance” to NIFTEM. As per NIRF 2022, NIFTEM has figured at the rank 127 in the engineering domain. The entrance test score of the candidates is used to select candidates to join NIFTEM Sonipat. An applicant initiates the application process of this college at NIFTEM, through online application form or directly apply a visit to the college. The final choice is dependent on the given eligibility tests and qualifying standards that are mentioned on the different Entrance Exam.

The institute accepts cutoff ranks of JEE Main for admissions in BTech programme. JEE Main qualified candidates can do the choice filling and seat locking through the JOAPS portal. Likewise in case of MTech admissions, the entrance examination called GATE has to be cleared to seek admission. NIFTEM Sonipat Scholarship

NIFTEM Sonipat has launched different types of scholarships for its worthy students. Scholarships in merit basis are given to students who are admitted in the basic technology, master of technology or the master of business administration courses. Applicants in this case have to ensure they fulfil the conditions set by the college in order to receive the scholarships. • Merit Scholarship: The scholarship is given to the first three students on merit basis in B.Tech. and one student on merit basis in each MTech. programmes.
• The NIFTEM Merit scholarship is in major part paid for the second semester The NIFTEM Merit scholarship is mostly paid in the second semester.
• After that, for the next year and subsequent years, only the toppers are given scholarships for the year. This includes a tuition fee drop of ten months and a monthly pay check.
  
• Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: The MTech students get the merit cum means scholarship exclusively on the merit cum means basis for the deserving needy students whose family income does not exceed INR 2,50,000/- only.
• MCM scholarships are tenable to 5% of the students and means six students in MTech, one each for the stream for stream in MCM.
