Application form correction for JEE Main 2025 has been enabled by the National Testing Agency (NTA) today, November 26. JEE Main candidates who have filled their applications on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in can modify their application forms. The correction window will run through November 27, which means that applicants have limited time on their hands to correct any mistakes or make additions.
What Can’t Be Changed:
There are certain details that cannot be modified during this correction period, including:
- Mobile number
- Email address
- Permanent and Present Address
- Emergency contact details
- Uploaded photographs
Most of these details remain tabbed in after submission and hence require proper entry of details at the time of application.
What Can Be Updated:
While certain details are locked, candidates are allowed to modify the following fields:
- Name (of the candidate, his/her mother, if alive, or father)
- Class 10 and Class 12 details
- PAN number
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- caste class minority status for example SC, ST, OBC, EWS etc
- PwD means Person with Disability
- Signature
This correction window enables the candidate to correct or change personal and academic information which might have been entered inappropriately when applying. It is always helpful to cross-check, especially on the facts as any variation alters competitiveness or results to variations throughout the examination.

How to Make Corrections in Your JEE Main 2025 Application?
To apply corrections, Follow the steps listed below:
- Visit the Official JEE Main Website: JEE Main will be conducted in two sessions- Morning and Evening Shift; visit the official website of JEE Main at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the “Session 1 Correction Link”: On the home page go the Candidate Activity tab where you will find “Session 1 Correction Link.” Click on it.
- Log in Using Your Credentials: Type in your application number, date of birth and other login details to complete your application form.
- Select the Field(s) You Want to Update: After login to our system, you will only have the list of fields which it will be possible to correct. Decide on whichever you have to accentuate.
- Make Necessary Changes: Enter proper details in the chosen fields. For instance, to change category or gender among others, you will be able to do that here.
- Upload Any Required Documents: If what you are changing involves documents which may include a new signature or photo, ensure to upload them in the right way.
- Submit Your Corrections: When you have made the changes, go ahead and submit your new application form.
- Pay Any Additional Fees (If Applicable): If by making such changes the application fee is affected for instance changing the category from General to SC/ST then the extra amount has to be paid. Your corrections will be saved once payment is successful.
- Download the Acknowledgment Slip: Once you have made the corrections and paid for any fees that might be charged you are provided with an acknowledgement slip. Please feel free to download this slip for your own records.
Choice of Paper/Medium/Exam City
Candidates are allowed to modify the choice of paper (as example Paper 1 for B.E/B.Tech or Paper 2 for B.Arch), medium of the exam and here also the choice of the examination cities through the correction window. However, the exam cities will only be distributed according to the current and permanent residential address given on the application form.
Changes in Fees
Where any of these corrections will increase the total application fee, further changes will only be made after the additional payment has been received. However, where the correction leads to a reduction in the application fee, no refund of the balance amount shall be provided by NTA.
