Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is one of the premier institutions offering postgraduate and research education in the country. Students can check their respective program list and access category-wise cutoffs related to JNU UG admissions. All the eligible candidates must gain entry by September 30, 2024, against the second cutoff list. The third round of cutoffs will be published if any number of seats remain vacant after the completion of the second round of the seat allotment process.
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Overview
It was the first university to start integrated MA courses in foreign languages. Besides that, it has also undertaken academic collaboration with 71 global universities through exchange and cooperation programs. JNU is known for academic reputation by working hard in studies as well as extracurricular activities.
The courses offered diversify, embracing the humanities and their allied subjects like comparative literature, languages, administration, technology, and so on. New Developments for JNU MBA Admission 2024-25
The registration process for Jawaharlal Nehru University’s MBA admissions is now available. The last date for an application seeking MBA is June 15, 2024. All applicants have to register for themselves at the official admissions portal, retrieve their login credentials generated during the registration process, and log in. Candidates can submit their application using the online application form that will attract a fee of Rs 2000 for General applicants and Rs 1000 for SC/ST/PwD category candidates. Before applying, candidates must have graduated with a bachelor’s degree and possess a valid CAT or GMAT score to gain admission to this MBA programme.

JNU Admission Procedure
The admission procedure differs for every course at JNU. There are procedures specific to each program. In most undergraduate and postgraduate courses, JNU admits students based on their scores from CUET UG for undergraduate and CUET PG for postgraduates. B.A. (Hons) Admission in JNU
JNU School of Languages offers a number of B.A. (Hons) programs, which are mainly: Persian, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, French, Chinese, Russian, Pashto, and Spanish. Candidates seeking admission in the specialization have to appear for the CUET UG Exam. The eligible candidates will be admitted as per the merit obtained by them in CUET Exam considering the provisions laid down in the university’s official admission policies.
JNU M.A./M.Sc./MCA/MPH Admission
JNU has a number of post graduate programs, which also include various specializations. As every institute has its eligibility criteria, so does JNU. After getting through the eligibility criteria of the university, candidates must do the following.
- Stage 1: CUET PG Exam Appear and secure qualifying marks- In order to get admission into the desired program, a candidate must appear for the CUET PG exam and secure valid scores.
- Application to the Desired Program in the Official Website of JNU- Open the official website of JNU and apply to the concerned postgraduate program for which the candidate wants to get admitted.
- Merit List According to CUET PG Scores – After getting the applications, the university will release a merit list.

JNU MBA Admission
Applicants who apply for JNU MBA must appear in CAT. For the candidates shortlisted on the basis of CAT score, the university will send them for an interview. Then, after organizing the interview process, the final merit list will come out, for which the candidates selected must pay the tuition fees as a confirmation to join the course
JNU M.Tech Admission
For taking admission in M.Tech course in JNU, candidates are required to take the NTA conducted JNUEE. Following the graduation of JNUEE exam, the University will release a merit list considering performance in the respective exam. To be eligible for the M.Tech course, candidates must achieve qualifying marks.
JNU Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech Admission
For admission to the Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech, applicants have to:
- Fill out and submit the JEE Mains form by the deadline
- Appear for the JEE Mains entrance test conducted by NTA
- Qualify with the required score envisaged by JNU’s School of Engineering
- JOSAA will declare the opening and closing ranks for JNU, and one is eligible for joining if rank matches with the cut-offs.

JNU M.Phil/Ph.D. Admission
JNU provides research opportunities in above 20 streams through M.Phil/Ph.D. and M.Tech/Ph.D. The MPhil / PhD admission is undertaken based on the following factors: candidates must have appeared for a written test and viva voce conducted by the university; the applicant must have been eligible under relevant categories and comparative merit; the final admission is also based upon Deprivation Points, if any.

Scholarships in JNU
There are various scholarships provided by the Jawaharlal Nehru University to support financially needy deserving students. These scholarships are awarded on a set of criteria, which are sometimes based on merit and sometimes based purely on need. Here’s an outline of the major ones:
- Tendulkar Scholarship: Rs. 400 per month for two students from two different Centers in the School of Social Sciences. It is given on rotation for two years.
- Prof. Ramesha Rao Scholarship and Travel Grant: M.Phil/Ph.D. students in Cancer Biology will be offered Rs. 3,000 per month for ten months and a travel grant of Rs. 30,000 to any one international conference or seminar.
- Ford Foundation Scholarships: M.A. students scholarships of Rs. 700 per month are available. The scholarships are given purely on merit, with at least half of the awards reserved for female students.
- Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: This is granted to the meritorious students whose parents or guardians have an annual income of less than Rs. 2,50,000. The scholarship amount is according to the present guidelines of the university.
- Prof. MJK Thavaraj MCM Scholarship: There are two scholarships of Rs. 300 only, along with a contingency of Rs. 2,000 for M.A. students in their first year of Economics at the School of Social Sciences.
