After announcing the results of Class 10 and Class 12, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued a notification for the revaluation process on Monday. According to the notification, the revaluation will be conducted in three steps, which must be completed sequentially. The entire process will be conducted online via the CBSE website.
Stages Involved in the Revaluation Process
Following the result announcement, many students expressed dissatisfaction with their results. To address this, CBSE has provided an opportunity for revaluation. The process involves three stages:
- Verification of Marks: Students must apply for verification of marks between May 17 and May 21, with a fee of Rs. 500 per subject.
- Photocopy of Answer Book: After the verification, students can request a photocopy of their answer book between June 1 and June 2, paying a fee of Rs. 700 per answer sheet.
- Revaluation: If still unsatisfied, students can apply for revaluation between June 6 and June 7, at a cost of Rs. 100 per question.
Eligibility and Importance of Revaluation:
Post-COVID, the requirement for 75 percent board marks in IIT-NIT admissions has been reinstated. For JEE 2024, the eligibility criteria may require 75 percent board marks for General, OBC, and EWS categories, and 65 percent for ST-SC and PWD, or being in the top 20 percentile of their category. Students who did not achieve these marks should take advantage of the revaluation opportunity. Additionally, students can improve their board eligibility by taking improvement exams in one or more subjects. Details on applying for improvement exams will be available on the CBSE website.
Admission to Engineering Institutes:
Students should now focus on applying to engineering institutes, as many prestigious institutions are still accepting applications. Institutions like BITS Pilani, Manipal, Mangaluru, PES Bengaluru, KIIT Kalinga, SRM Chennai, MIT Pune, UPES Dehradun, NIIMS Mumbai, Shiv Nadar Noida, Bennett Noida, BBP Pune, and LPU Punjab conduct their own entrance exams. Moreover, students who may not secure a core branch in NITs or IIITs through JEE-Main can consider applying to MNIT Jaipur, JP Noida, Thapar Patiala, DTU, NSIT, Nirma Ahmedabad, Dhirubhai Ambani, and IIIT Hyderabad based on their JEE-Main scores.
