NCERT Solutions for Class 6 English Supplementary Chapter 1: A Tale of Two Birds

The story is about a bird and her two newborns. A big storm brings down the tree in which they lived. The mother died while the strong wind blew the two little birds to the other side of the forest. One bird ended up near a cave where robbers lived and the other one outside Rishi's ashram and one day the king was chasing a deer to hunt him in the forest, the king lost his way. While he was resting under a tree near a cave, he heard a voice saying that someone was under the tree and he could be robbed of his jewels and horse. The king looked to see who it was and saw a big brown bird on the tree saying this, and before anyone could come, he fled on his horse quickly. The king then reached an ashram nearby and saw a similar bird which was welcoming the king into the ashram. The bird saw that the king was puzzled and explained that the other bird was his brother who had befriended robbers and the Rishi explained the story of the two birds when he came back to the ashram to the king giving the lesson of how important a person's company is which can make or break their behaviour.
