MSBSHSE 2026: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is an autonomous education board established in 1965 under the provisions of the Maharashtra Act No. 41. MSBSHSE oversees the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examinations in the state of Maharashtra.
There are nine divisional boards set up by the MSBSHSE Board across the state to oversee and conduct HSC and SSC examinations. The nine divisional boards are located in Pune, Mumbai, Amravati, Latur, Kolhapur, Nasik, Aurangabad, Nagpur and Ratnagiri.
The Board conducts examinations twice a year. The board is also in charge of executing the curriculum and syllabus of all the Maharashtra Board Books and exam timetables.

History of MSBSHSE
The State Board of Maharashtra was founded on 1st January 1966 as the Maharashtra State Secondary Education Board. The Board was set up to manage all the activities regarding secondary education in Maharashtra. In 1967, the act was revised, wherein the name of the Maharashtra Board was changed to Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
