1800-102-2727The poem by Rabindranath Tagore talks about a child's wishes and attractions and shows the state of their wavering but the innocent mind. The poem is on how a child gets attracted to the different ways in which people are around him and finds these differences interesting and inquisitive. At three different points during the day, he notices different hawkers and gets intrigued by their independent and liberated way of life. In the first part of the day, he sees the vendor selling bangles and wishes to be a peddler and move freely to any place he wanted just like him. In the evening, he sees the plant specialist burrowing the ground which made him want to be a nursery worker so that he could play in the dust and finally at night when he goes to bed, he sees the guardian through his window, and he wishes to be a gatekeeper so that he could also move in the streets at night freely without any hesitation.
