The poem "Garden Snake" clearly Portrays Harmless Snake. The poet encounters the child's fear of seeing the snake for the first time in his garden. He had heard before that the snakes are very dangerous to human lives by some people, but the poet's mother denied those opinions and later told him that not every snake is poisonous. Even they feed only on insects. The poet's mother added that there is no need to fear snakes or run away. She asked the poet to stand aside and watch how the snake behaves with him when he does not disturb it. When the poet realised that certain kinds of snakes are not venomous, He slowly loses his fear and starts to watch the snake with confidence. When he saw the snake wiggling in the grass, he noticed its irregular motion with enthusiasm and delight. He later told himself that there is no mistake with the snakes. It is just a harmful garden. The poet beautifully expressed how the child's fear of Snake gets replaced with delight.

The Poet sees a snake in his Garden. His eyes are filled with fear, and he runs away, thinking that the snake is dangerous for us. Later his mother tells him that all snakes are not venomous. Some of them are good too. They eat only insects and rats as their food, and that is how the snakes are the best friends of farmers. After hearing his mother's words, the poet seems confident, and the fear is no longer with him. He seems with delight when the snake is wiggling in the grass. He added that he consoles himself whenever he sees the snake as there is nothing wrong with this snake. It is just a harmless garden snake.
