1800-102-2727The story "A tiger in the house" was written by Ruskin Bond. This story revolves around a tiger cub named Timothy who was brought home by the author's grandfather. The author's grandfather had two other pets in his house. There was Toto, the monkey, and the other was a puppy.
Initially, Timothy was very friendly with the other two pets in the house. But as the tiger grew up, he became more arrogant and dangerous towards him and the other pets. So his grandfather decided to leave Timothy in the zoo. His grandfather took Timothy to a zoo in Lucknow.
As time went on, after six months, the author's grandfather visited the zoo to see his tiger pet. As he went near the tiger in the cage, He patted the tiger, and the tiger also licked his hands. The tiger was afraid of a leopard in the cage next to him. Seeing this, the grandfather decided to meet the superintendent and request him to transfer Timothy to another cage but could not meet him. He again went to the tiger and patted him and said goodbye.
The keeper recognised the grandfather and informed Timothy. His tiger pet had died two months ago because of pneumonia. The keeper also said that this tiger was caught only last month and is very dangerous. But the tiger was still licking the grandfather's arm, and he somehow took his hand out of the cage. He then left the place disappointed by bidding "Good night" to the tiger.
This story leaves the message that a person's basic nature does not change in any circumstance.
