NCERT Solutions for Class 7 English Honeycomb Chapter 9: A Bicycle in Good Repair

The narrator and one of his known persons decided to go for a bicycle ride on one fine afternoon. They had a recheck on their bicycle; his friend caught hold of the front wheel and said it was wobbling when it wasn't. He unscrewed something from which all-metal ball got out of it. When the narrator started helping him, he said that the narrator wasn't doing it in the right way. He also mentioned that the narrator had misplaced the parts of the bicycle. He said again, there was something wrong with the narrator's gear case, and he split the gearcase into two pieces. Narrator's instinct was pointing him to kick his friend out of the house, but part of him stopped him from doing that, and the narrator let his friend disarrange his bicycle.

He was trying to fix the opened fork and wheel. After struggling for ten minutes, the narrator decided to hold the handle and wheel. They had changed position, and suddenly he laughed and said that the narrator had forgotten to put balls into the wheel bearing. He was enthusiastic about putting those balls back into the wheel. The narrator was happy to see the enthusiasm. Finally, when the narrator started riding the bicycle, he noticed wobbling had increased after a repair, which was more trouble for him. Even though the repair was not helpful, the narrator praised his friend for his skills.

Thus, this encouraged his friend to start working on the gear case. He turned the bicycle upside down and started working on it by lying down on the ground. After several hours, sweating into trying to fix the bicycle, he wounded himself. Then, the narrator helped him in cleaning up the mess and gave his bicycle for another repair.
