1800-102-2727Nishad, a seven-year-old boy, and his 10-year-old sister Maya were curious regarding their neighbour Mr Nath. One fine day, their marbles went inside his house, and Nishad got a chance to see Mr Nath. To Nishad, Mr Nath appeared to be a crook, who was running away from the cops. Mr Nath had a bad scar on his face and didn't have any friends. However, Mr Nath is a patient to their mother, a doctor, and she told that Mr Nath was a polite man.
Nishad and his sister argued about Mr Nath; they discussed his financial wealth, how he managed his food, and so on. They also discussed Mr Nath's scar on which Maya said that he might have got during a shoot-out with the police, while Nishad said that their mother had been told it was a burn scar. On their mother's birthday, Nishad went along with her to the clinic. He happened to see Mr Nath there. The same evening Nishad went to his place, and Mr Nath gave him a bar of chocolate. Nishad even met Ramesh, the boy who used to bring food for Mr Nath. Ramesh told Nishad that Mr Nath takes two meals in a day and tea in the morning and evening. Furthermore, he talks a lot about Mr Nath. Maya and Nishad continue discussing the chances of Mr Nath being a crook.
Their school reopened after the summer holidays the next day. They could not attend it that day because of heavy rains. Nishad was busy engrossed in his comics when Maya informed that she had made a note of everything they knew about Mr Nath, listed all the things like facts and gave a number to each one of them. Nishad felt bad and had developed a soft corner for Mr Nath as he had no friends, while Maya was of the thought that the visitor who comes to his place on Sunday maybe his partner who knows all his secrets and maybe the loot as well. Both the children argued, and Nishad got upset with Maya for calling Mr Nath a crook. Nishad had an interest only in finding out why Mr Nath was so thin and lonely. He wanted to be his friend, and Maya's theories didn't have any impact on him.
