1800-102-2727Natural vegetation and wildlife refer to the plants and animals that survive naturally in a specific region of the biosphere. Chapter 6 of the book teaches concepts like the different types of natural vegetation, forests and grasslands which are explained in detail with proper examples so that the students can memorise easily and retain it for an extended period. We understand how Natural vegetation is Classified into three broad categories: (a) Forests: Which grow in the regions where temperature and rainfall are plentiful to support a tree cover, and their density depend on the same factors. (b) Grasslands: These grow in the region of moderate rain and (c) Shrubs that are thorny shrubs that grow in the dry region.
We then move forward to Tropical Evergreen Forests, also known as tropical rainforests that occur in the regions which are near to the equator and close to the tropics. These regions are hot, and they receive heavy rainfall throughout the year. Since there is no particular dry season, the trees do not shed their leaves and are called evergreen. The thick canopies of the trees do not allow sunlight to penetrate inside the forest even during day-time. We will also learn about Tropical deciduous found in large parts of India, northern Australia, and Central America whose trees shed their leaves in the dry season to conserve water and are extremely useful for making furniture, transport and constructional materials.
