NCERT Solutions for Class 9 Social Science Geography Chapter 2 - Physical Features of India

In the previous chapter, the location and Size of India were mentioned. This chapter begins by listing out the main components that India consists of. Major physiographic divisions of India have been listed out. The chapter describes the components such as the mountains, plains, and deserts in detail. The altitudes of the Himalayas, the hills located around them have been collectively stated.

Further, the chapter also outlines mountains' subdivisions based on the hills, rivers, and directions around them. The formation of the Northern plain and its climatic conditions have been appropriately stated, and the largest part of the Northern plain consists of Alluvium.
