This chapter discusses the freedom struggle the country underwent between the 1870s--1947 and the challenges it faced to emerge victoriously finally. All the major events and revolts that culminate in the nation's independence have been briefly discussed in this chapter. The students need to closely follow the chronology of the events to understand India's struggle to achieve this freedom. Students are to make a note of all the events discussed in the chapter.
