KVPY Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

For KVPY SA:

  • Completion of XI standard education (with Science subjects) in the academic year 2024 is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in aggregate in Science and Mathematics subjects in Class X exams is required.
  • A minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in aggregate in Science subjects in XII standard board examination is necessary.
  • Only students joining a UG program in Basic Science (B.Sc/BS/B.Stat./B.Math./Int.M.Sc/MS) in the academic year 2024 will receive the KVPY fellowship.
  • Selected students will be invited to the National Science (Vijyoshi) Camp during the one-year interim period, with KVPY sponsoring their travel and related expenses.

For KVPY SX:

  • Candidates currently enrolled in 10+2 can apply.
  • Minimum of 60% in the 12th Board exam (50% for SC/ST/PwD categories) is required.
  • The fellowship will be activated upon joining an undergraduate program in Basic Science in the academic year 2023-2024.

For KVPY SB:

  • Candidates in their 1st year of undergraduate courses in Basic Science subjects during the academic year 2024 are eligible.
  • GEN category candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks in the Intermediate Board Examination, while SC/ST/PWD category candidates must secure 50% marks in aggregate in Science subjects.
  • Before commencing the fellowship, candidates must achieve a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD category) in their 1st-year final examination of relevant courses.

Nationality:

  • The application is open to Indian nationals.

  2. Access to a credit card, debit card, or net banking for application fee payment. The fee is INR 1250 for General and OBC categories, and INR 625 for SC/ST/PH/Pwd.

Application Stream Criteria:
