NCERT Solutions for Class 7 Science Chapter 7:Weather, Climate and Adaptations of Animals to Climate

The chapter discussed the surroundings where plants and animals live. Along with that, we learn how they adapt to their surroundings. It also mentions various components that affect the climate of a region. Furthermore, it elaborates upon the different types of climates witnessed worldwide. The following are the points discussed in the chapter:
- The day-to-day condition of the atmosphere at a place with respect to the temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind-speed, etc., is called the weather at that place. It is the weather of a place that changes frequently.
- The day's maximum temperature generally occurs in the afternoon while the minimum temperature occurs in the early morning.
- All the changes in the weather are driven by the sun.
- Change in climate is witnessed over a period of 25 years. It is the average weather pattern taken over a long time.
- The Tropical and the Polar Regions are the two regions of the earth, which have severe climatic conditions.
- Animals adapt to the conditions in which they live.
- The polar region is the land of the midnight sun. The climate is severely cold. Animals in the polar region are adapted to the extremely cold climate by having some special characteristics.
- Migration is another means to escape the harsh and cold conditions.
