NCERT Solutions for Class 7 Science Chapter 11: Transportation in Animals and Plants

The chapter discussed the circulatory system and excretory system of the human body and further discussed transportation mode adopted by plants for transporting food, water, and necessary minerals throughout its body. The following are the points discussed in the chapter:
- The blood that circulates in the body of most animals distributes food and oxygen to different cells of the body. It also carries waste products to different parts of the body for excretion.
- The circulatory system consists of the heart and blood vessels.
- Blood consists of plasma, Red Blood Cells (commonly known as RBC), White Blood Cells (commonly known as WBC) and platelets.
- In humans, blood flows through arteries and veins, and the heart acts as a pumping organ.
- Blood is red due to the presence of a red pigment named haemoglobin.
- Arteries carry blood from the heart to all parts of the body.
- Veins carry blood from all parts of the body back to the heart.
- Removal of waste products from the body is called excretion.
- Excretory system of humans consists of two kidneys, two ureters, a urinary bladder, and urethra. Salts and urea are removed along with water as sweat.
