VITWEE Full Form and Overview

VITEEE or Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination is an online entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering programs offered at VIT campuses in Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal, and Amaravati. Every year, VITEEE is held to get students enrolled in various undergraduate programs.

To register for the exam the candidates can visit the VITEEE.vit.ac.in and submit their application form. Later, the candidates can access their admit cards from the website around 48 hours before the exam. The language of the question paper is English, as it is attempted by both Indians and students abroad. The exam duration and marking patterns are discussed below:

VITEEE 2025 Latest Updates 

As of July 2025, the VITEEE exam has been completed, and the results have been announced on the official website. To check the results, the candidates need to log in to the official website using their application number and password. VIT also sent the candidates' scores through email and SMS. 

The counselling dates have been announced, which are conducted only online. Furthermore, the candidates will be allowed to select their preferred seats based on their rank and preferences. It is advised to check the official website frequently for current updates: viteee.vit.ac.in

VITEEE Application Process

Candidates can fill out the application form through the official website viteee.vit.ac.in. The process is completely online:

  • You can receive your login credentials after registering using your email ID and phone number. 
  • You can log in using your email and password to access the application form. 
  • Next, fill in the detailed exam form with all the necessary personal and academic information. Review all the details and make sure they are correct and factual. Keep hold of your application number as it can be useful for viewing results or other tasks. 
  • Candidates will have to pay the application fee of INR 1,350 with GST. The fees should be paid online, through net banking/credit/debit card, and no other payment mode is accepted. For international students, the candidates need to pay USD 90.
  • Furthermore, the candidates need to scan and upload their passport-size photo and signature, as per the official specifications.

VITEEE Eligibility Criteria

Nationality:

  • The candidate can be a resident of India or a non-resident, OCI, or PIO holder.
  • NRI candidates can directly apply under the NRI category found in the application form.

Age:

  • Candidates born on or after July 1, 2003, will be eligible for the exam.
  • The candidate's date of birth recorded in the HSC/SSC/ X certificate will be considered authentic.

Qualifying for the exam

  • The candidates should have passed the 10+2 exam, or an equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • For undergraduate Engineering admission, the candidate should have a minimum 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate) for the following categories:
  1. Candidates belong to SC/ST.
  2. Candidates from Jammu&Kashmir/ Ladakh, the Northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, need a Certificate to prove community/ Nativity, which should be produced at the time of counselling.

Marks needed in the qualifying exam:

  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
  • The minimum 50% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST, Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh, and North Eastern States.

He/she must have passed the qualifying exam for taking the VITEEE exam in 2025.

VITEEE Selection Process

The selection process is based on the candidate's performance in the exam. The university follows a ranking system and an online counselling process to allocate seats. Here's the selection process:

  • It follows the Equi-percentile method to prepare the rank list to ensure fairness.
