Each shift of JEE Main 2026 has three subjects. They are:

• Chemistry
• Mathematics

Here are the important exam pattern details:

• Total Number of Questions: 90
• Questions You Need to Attempt: 75
• Question Type: MCQs and Numerical Value Questions

Marking Pattern

• +4 marks for every correct answer
• -1 mark for incorrect MCQs
• No negative marking for numerical value questions

The paper checks your basic concepts, your ability to apply formulas and how well you can manage time during the exam.
