RD Sharma Solutions for Class 7 Maths Chapter 8: Linear Equations in One Variable

The RD Sharma Solutions for Class 7 Maths Chapter 8 linear equations in one variable explain an equation such as cx+d=0. Here c and d are two integers while x is a variable and has only one solution. For instance, 7x + 4 = 6 is a linear equation with only a single variable. And this is the reason why this equation has only one solution, which is x = 2/7. On the other hand, a linear equation in two variables has two solutions.

Students can learn about equations in this topic. Equations are termed as statements of equity with one or more variables. Secondly, a linear equation is nothing but an equation with the highest power of variables as 1. Then, while exploring the topic deeply, students get to obtain the solutions of equations using the trial-and-error method.

In addition to this, the systematic method is also taught to the students where they learn how to solve any linear equation using a systematic method that involves maintaining the balance between Left Hand Side and Right-Hand Side. For instance, if equal weights are put in two bags, we can vividly observe that the two bags remain balanced. So, even if we remove equal weights from both the bags, we still find the bag in a well-balanced position. And this is how the systematic method works.

Furthermore, after all these concepts, Class 7 Maths Chapter 8 linear equations in one variable teaches the students about various other concepts such as addition, multiplication, subtraction and division involving the equations. Then eventually, the transposition method is taught to the students. This method is used to isolate the variable to one side of the equation while moving everything else to the other side to easily solve the equation. Finally, at the end of the topic, applications and exercise problems are given to enhance knowledge and consolidate the concepts taught in the chapter.
