NCERT Solutions for Class 9 Maths Chapter 11 - Constructions

The chapter begins by recollecting the methods and steps which were taught in previous sections of the chapters. To begin with the construction of maps, designs and architectural objects, one would require a geometry box. Then, the chapter talks about the construction of geometrical shapes in a synchronized way through different angles. The construction of a perpendicular bisector on a line segment is explained with steps. Some basic constructions of triangles with theorems such as SAS, ASA have been done. The chapter mentions various examples among which activity is given to draw a triangle with different measurements.

  • The chapter aims to create awareness about the uses of geometrical tools.
  • Compass and protractor have unique features with which solutions can establish the base of different angles and shapes.
  • As studied in an earlier chapter, the theorems such as SAS and ASA are used to form steps and parameters to be followed to construct the angles properly.
  • Alternative methods to construct a triangle have been given to widening the scope of learning.
  • Construction of the triangle with its perimeter and two base angles have been explained.
  • Concepts of angles that bisect and intersect the points are discussed.
  • Steps to construct a triangle when the base and its angle are different on both sides are described
