WBJEE 2027, or West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, is a state-level entrance exam. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts this examination. It is for admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture across colleges in West Bengal. WBJEE Application Process

The WBJEE 2027 application involves a step-by-step online procedure. Here's a quick breakdown to guide you through:

WBJEE Exam Pattern 2027

WBJEE is a two-paper, OMR-based exam with 155 MCQs for 200 marks. Paper I covers Mathematics (75 questions, 100 marks), and Paper II covers Physics and Chemistry (40 questions and 50 marks each). Each paper lasts 2 hours, so the total exam time is 4 hours.

WBJEE 2027 Syllabus

The WBJEE syllabus is closely aligned with the Class 11 and Class 12 curricula of recognised Indian boards. It covers Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry only. Counselling begins after the result declaration and is conducted entirely online via the official portal. In 2026, WBJEEB ran a single combined centralised e-counselling for WBJEE and JEE (Main) candidates in three rounds, followed by online decentralised counselling for vacant seats. The fees below are as per 2026 and will be confirmed in the 2027 notification.

• Registration and Fee Payment: Pay a ₹500 non-refundable fee (2026).
• Choice Filling and Locking: Select preferred colleges and courses in order of priority. WBJEEB advised candidates to select at least 20 choices in 2026.
• Seat Allotment Rounds:
  • Round 1: Based on General Merit Rank, eligibility, category, seat availability, and order of choices
  • Round 2 (Upgradation): Available to those seeking better seats or fresh choice filling
  • Round 3: For eligible candidates after Round 2
  • Online Decentralised Counselling: To fill remaining vacant seats (₹250 non-refundable registration and ₹2,000 seat acceptance fee in 2026)

FAQs About WBJEE Exam

Q1. What is the pass mark for WBJEE?

WBJEE does not have a fixed pass mark. WBJEEB sets a cutoff rank and/or cutoff score, so not every candidate who gets a rank card is awarded a rank. To be eligible for admission, candidates generally need at least 45% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together in Class 12, which is reduced to 40% for reserved category candidates, along with 30% in English. 

Q2. How many seats are in WBJEE?

The seat matrix for each session is declared by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of West Bengal, and published on the WBJEEB website before counselling. Up to 10% of the approved seats in self-financed engineering and technology colleges in West Bengal are available to candidates through JEE Main scores.

Q3. Is WBJEE only for West Bengal students?

No, WBJEE is not exclusively for West Bengal students. Any Indian citizen or OCI candidate can apply for WBJEE. West Bengal domicile is required for any seat in government-aided engineering, technology and pharmacy colleges, for any reserved category seat, and for 90% of the general category seats at Jadavpur University.
