Newton's Law of Motion, the correlations between the forces acting on a body and the body's motion, were first proposed by Sir Isaac Newton, an English physicist and mathematician. Newton's 1st law states that if a body is at rest or travelling in a straight line at a constant velocity, it will stay at rest or continue to travel at constant velocity in a line until it is acted upon by force.

The second law of Newton is a mathematical explanation of the changes that a force will cause in a body's movement. It states that the rate of change in momentum of a body in time is proportional to its force in both magnitude and direction. A body's momentum equals the product of its mass and its velocity. Momentum, like speed, is a quantity of a vector, having both magnitude and direction. Newton's third law notes that they apply forces to each other as two bodies touch, which are equal in magnitude.

Often known as the law of motion and reaction, the third law in solving static equilibrium problems, where all forces are equal, this rule is important. Still, it also applies to bodies in uniform or rapid motion. Actual forces, not simple bookkeeping instruments, are the forces it identifies. Apart from this students will also learn about types of forces - contact and non-contact force
