The University of Mysore, established on 27 July 1916, is a public university and the sixth-oldest university in India. It is the first university in Karnataka and the first in India to be formed outside British India. Accredited with an 'A+' grade by NAAC and first granted Five Star status in 2000, it is situated in Mysuru, a heritage city approximately 140 km from Bengaluru. The principal campus, Manasagangotri, covers 739 acres, with campuses in Mandya, Hassan, and Chamarajanagar. It was ranked 86 in the NIRF 2024 Overall ranking.

A. The MSc Biotechnology is a two-year course with four semesters. It follows the Choice-Based Credit System. Core papers, soft core, and elective papers are included in the curriculum along with a dissertation due in the third semester.
A. It requires 10+2 with 45% aggregate. CBSE 12th, UP 12th, Karnataka 2nd PUC, and ISC exams are considered eligible for admission.
