About Mysore University: Overview

The University of Mysore, established on 27 July 1916, is a public university and the sixth-oldest university in India. It is the first university in Karnataka and the first in India to be formed outside British India. Accredited with an 'A+' grade by NAAC and first granted Five Star status in 2000, it is situated in Mysuru, a heritage city approximately 140 km from Bengaluru.
