Founded in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was renamed in 1944 and became a deemed University according to the UGC Act of 1964. This public institution is accredited by the UGC and NAAC. Its principal campus of 21 acres is at Deonar, Mumbai, and comprises the Malti and Jal A.D. Naoroji Campus Annexe. It also has locations in Hyderabad, Guwahati, and Tuljapur. It ranked 98th among the NIRF University category in 2023, and 60th in 2022.

The admission procedures for UG and PG courses include online registration, screening, shortlisting, and final selection. Interested candidates have to apply online through the official website, making sure to fulfil the eligibility requirements and submit the application on time.
Step 1: Register and appear for CUET UG/PG and select TISS Mumbai as the preferred university.
