The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) is famous in Bangalore, Karnataka, and was established on 27 December 1974. It was created as a result of the merger between the Government Mental Hospital and the All India Institute of Mental Health. It has gradually earned the title of an Institute of National Importance over time with the Centre Government, having concentrated mostly on neurosciences and mental health.
The 135-acre campus is home to highly innovative and superior facilities in the areas of psychiatry, neurology, neurosurgery, clinical psychology, psychiatric social work, nursing and biostatistics. It ranked as one of the 4 best medical institutions in India in 2024. NABH accredits the 1000-bed hospital, and NABL accredits all its diagnostic labs. As well, recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Step 1: The application forms can be obtained at the official site for 1500 and 1000 rupees per candidate in the general category and reserved category, respectively. To complete the admission process, students are required to complete the application form and scan and attach the correct documents.
