University of Jammu Admission Process
Admissions to the University of Jammu are based on both entrance exams and merit, and the process is fully online.
- How to Apply:
- Candidates have to visit the official website (www.jammuuniversity.ac.in) and register for the admission process using their valid mobile number and email. After registration, the candidates then have to fill out the application form and submit details like signatures, photographs, etc. and have to select their course and also category if it's applicable.
- After the application process, the university then releases a shortlisted candidates’ list. The course-relevant eligibility is checked, and for merit-based admission, this list is released based on the scores in relevant entrance exams.
- After the release of the list, the shortlisted candidates then have to appear for an interview round and are informed of the same. If a course doesn't require any interview, the student is contacted to join the counselling process.
- Lastly, the final students who have cleared the interview round have to finalise their seat and pay the tuition fees.
- The university then contacts the shortlisted candidates via email or any other means after the interview round.
- To secure their seat, the shortlisted candidate then has to proceed with their document verification and course fee payment as required.
- Entrance Exams and Selection:
- UG: CUET UG scores are accepted for the undergraduate programmes. The candidates are also required to complete their 12th class from a recognised board.
- PG: CUET PG, CMAT, CAT, and MAT scores are accepted. Most of the courses require the graduation to be completed from a recognised university. For LLB, it is also required that the candidate has already finished a graduation degree. For B.P.Ed., it is required that the candidate has either participated in any level of sports competition or that they have a graduate degree with Physical Education as a subject.
- Ph.D.: The candidate is required to complete their graduation from a recognised university and have to give an entrance-level exam conducted by the university (candidates who have appeared for SLET/SET, UGC‑NET/JRF, UGC‑CSIR‑NET, GATE, etc. don't have to appear for these exams)
- PG Diploma: The admission to these courses is also done on the basis of CUET-PG scores.
- Certificate: The courses require the merit scores received by the candidate in 10+2.
In all the eligibility criteria, the reserved categories have a relaxation of 5%.
Important Dates:
Here are some important dates that students must take note of:
- Integrated Program 5-year/ UG 4-year: Round 3 on-spot admissions began on 22nd July and will end on 5th August, 2025.
- M.Sc Technology 2025: The result has been announced on 13th July, 2025 by JKBOPEE.
- CAT 2025: Applications are starting from 1st August and will end on 13th September. Examination date: 30th November.
- PG and PG Diploma: Results are out and can be checked on the official website.
- MAT 2025: Apply by 15th September, 2025, for PBT (scheduled on 21st September) and 22nd September, 2025, for CBT (scheduled on 28th September).
