Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Admission Process

The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) conducts VITEEE, the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination for B.Tech programs across VIT campuses.

• Registration of New User: Candidates must use a valid email address and an active mobile number at the time of registering for the first time. Enter all the details carefully, like Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile number, Address and email. An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number for verification. Once the OTP is verified, a password will be sent to their registered email. All future updates will be sent to their registered email and mobile number.
• Sign-In for Registered Users: Candidates can log in with a valid email address and an active mobile number.
• Filling the Online Application Form: The candidates must fill in all the details carefully in the application form with detailed information, including academic qualifications and personal details. Upon submission of the basic details, an Application Number will be generated. Use the application number in future correspondence. 
• Payment: Application fee for the respective course (INR 1,121 for M.Tech/MCA and INR 1,350 for B.Tech) is to be paid through Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or Paytm. Fees for foreign exam centres are paid in INR. The application fee shall not be refunded.
• Photo & Signature Upload: Upload a coloured photograph taken by a studio. 
• Download Filled-in Application: Download and save the application filled out by the candidates for their reference. There is no need to send the hard copy of the application to VIT.
• Merit or Rank list: The selection of a candidate is based on the university-level examination, which includes VITEEE (for B.Tech), VITMEE (for M.Tech), and VITREE (for PhD). They are shortlisted according to their rank and participate in online counselling.
• Counselling and Seat Allotment: During the counselling process, a student will be able to select the campus, program, and fee category from the available options. Seat allotment will be based on rank and available seats. Candidates ranking UP to 1 lakh will be eligible for counselling at the Vellore and Chennai campuses.
• Document Verification and Fee Payment: Admission is confirmed only when the full tuition fee has been paid by the stipulated time. Candidates must submit all required documents either upon arrival at the campus or upon request from the Admissions Office. However, provisional admission will stand valid only upon fulfilment of all eligibility conditions and verification of documents.
