NCERT Solutions for Class 7 Maths Chapter 3: Data Handling

Data means well-structured information. Data handling is a process of collecting data, presenting it and getting a result. For example,- The teachers submit marks to the class teacher. In this chapter, students will know about organising, handling, analysing, evaluating and representing data. In Ex 3.1, you will learn to find the arithmetic mean, which means an average of standard quantities and data representation. You will also get to know about Range which is found by subtracting minimum from the maximum. It gives a range of complete data. In Ex 3.2, you will learn about calculating mode, which is a form of symbolic value. The value which occurs the more number of times is treated as a mode. There is one more way to find out mode when the data is too large.

You will also learn about the median. It divides values into two groups, and that which exists in the middle is the median. In Ex 3.3, you will learn how to draw graphs. Students learn about the bar graph, and it's the concept and its variations. The graph is a simple way to represent data in an organised manner. If the data is given for two or more comparison, there is a need to draw different bar graphs. In Ex 3.4, you will know what is Chance and Probability. Chance means prediction and probability is an estimation of the possibility of occurring chances. The main topic and subtopic of this chapter are:
