INI CET Full Form and Overview

INI CET, or the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test, is a national-level entrance exam. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi conducts this examination twice every year in January and July. It is for admission to postgraduate courses in Master's of Surgery, Master's of Dental Surgery, Master's of Chirurgiae, Doctor of Medicine, and Doctorate of Medicine.

INI CET 2025 Latest Updates 

The result for INI CET 2025 was announced on May 24, 2025. In order to participate in seat allotment, the candidate has to clear a minimum cutoff. For the General category, the cutoff is 50 percentile and 45 percentile for the Reserved category. As of July 25, 2025, registration for the INI CET 2025 open round counselling has started, and the last registration date is July 31, 2025. The INI CET seat allotment result for the open round is expected on August 23, 2025.

The second round allotment of seats was released on July 10, 2025, and the reporting process is set to begin on August 25, 2025.

INI CET Exam Application Process

The application for INI CET involves a step-by-step online procedure. Here's a quick breakdown to guide you through:

    • Registration ID: Candidates have to start by visiting the official website of AIIMS: aiimsexam.ac.in 
    • Fill Application Form: Now, the candidates will have to fill out the form with their details.
  • Choose exams: Candidates will now have to choose their test details and preferred exam centre from the available options.
  • Upload Documents: The application process will be finished once the candidates upload their photograph, signature and thumb impression.
  • Final Registration: After the basic registration form is accepted, the candidates have to generate EUC and apply for final registration.
      • Candidates are required to use the registration ID and password and generate their EUC code.
      • Now, after their final code generation, the candidates will log in using their registration ID, EUC, and password and will now have to choose their academic details and medium of exams.
  • Fees Payment: Candidates will now have to pay the application fees. The payment can be easily done through UPI, Net Banking, Debit or Credit Card, or SBI cash or branch payment. 
  • Confirmation Page: After the payment, a receipt will be generated, and candidates can easily download it for future reference. They can now also download their registration form.

Counselling begins after the result declaration and is conducted entirely online via the official portal.

    • Choice Filling and Locking: Candidates will then save and lock their preferred colleges and courses.
  • Mock Round Result and Final Preference: Candidates will have to select the final preference based on the mock round results.
  • Seat Allotment List: On the official website, the final seat allotment list will be available. Now, the candidates can, 
    • Go with the allotted seat and no further counselling rounds.
    • Do not go with the allotted seat and go for further counselling rounds.

Along with the merit list on its official website, AIIMS also releases an INI CET cutoff list. In the merit list, the percentile for SC/ST/OBC and PwBD is 40, and for UR/OCI candidates it is 50. It is also important to note that the results of INI CET are only valid for current sessions.

Q1. Can INI CET be given twice in a year?
Ans. INI CET examinations are conducted twice a year, in the January session and the July session. One can sit for both.

Q2. Is it required to take part in the last round of the counselling session?
Ans. The candidates have three options in every round: to accept the seats, not to accept them and move on to the next round, or to lock the seats and still continue.
