MBBS Admission

Age Limit: The person concerned should attain a minimum age of 17 years on or before the 31st of December of the year of admission.

Eligibility: Should pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English at Class XII level with a score of at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC) in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology together.

Entrance Exam: The candidate needs to clear the NEET-UG exam.

Selection Process: Admissions are done through Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) counselling based on scores obtained by the student in the NEET-UG examination.

BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) Admissions

Eligibility: Two-year Pre-University exam by Karnataka’s Board with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, or an equivalent qualification. 

Entrance Exam: Candidates shall be required to appear for the Entrance examination conducted by St. John’s Medical College. 

Selection Process: Selection will be done based on the candidates’ performance in the Entrance examination, marks obtained in the qualifying examination, and the Interview. Shortlisted candidates shall be called for an interview. Final selection will be made on the basis of the interview and seat allotment.

  • Experienced Placement Cell: The college has an independent placement cell to help students get jobs. Thus, candidates are placed through direct placement by different agencies and consultancies. The college also organises workshops and placement drives for students in collaboration with the JKC (Jawaharlal Knowledge Centre).
  • Internship opportunities: There is a strong internship and placement program at St. John's Medical College for its students. Medical students are required to have an internship of 1 year in their college hospital. On-the-job training is administered in various departments with a monthly stipend of about INR 15,000.

There is a compulsory internship of 6 months for some other courses, during which students receive a stipend of INR 6,000 to INR 7,000. Students are given a reservation for postgraduate courses and a PG stipend of INR 40,000 per month while studying after completing two years of service in rural areas under a bond.
