Admission procedures for 2025 at the Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET) in Coimbatore are administered on the basis of entrance examinations for all courses. Interested candidates can apply online through the official website of SKCET Coimbatore.

How to Apply:

  • First, candidates must register with their detailed name, father’s name, mobile number, and email address. All updates will be sent to the registered mobile number and email.
  • Candidates will have to submit their personal and academic details to fill out the application form. 
  • Checking all details is imperative before submission; no corrections will be allowed afterwards.
  • Students can submit the application form after paying a fee of INR 500 for General and around INR 250 for reserved candidates. 
  • Upon submission, each candidate is allotted a random number of 10 digits. This number acts as a further tie-breaker when candidates have similar marks and all other tie-breakers have been exhausted.
  • After completing the application and being allotted a random number, the candidates are henceforth supposed to visit the nearest TNEA Facilitation Centre for document verification. They must bring along the original copies of the following:
    • A Class 10 mark sheet
    • A Class 12 mark sheet
    • Transfer certificate
    • Nativity certificate: if applicable
    • Category certificate: if applicable
    • Photo ID proof such as Aadhaar, Election ID, or Driving Licence

Selection Process: SKCET selects students mostly based on their entrance exam scores. One has to go through counselling to book their seats in the institute:

  • Merit List Preparation: Merit lists prepared by the DOTE are based on the following normalisation marks:
    • Mathematics: 100 marks, Physics: 50 marks, Chemistry: 50 marks
    • If there's a tie in merit, it is resolved by:
    • Those having higher marks in Mathematics
    • Those having higher marks in Physics
    • Marks in optional subjects
    • Older candidate
    • Higher random number
  • Counselling: Rank-wise candidates will be called for counselling. Candidates have to deposit the initial admission fee of ₹5000 in the case of General/OBC and ₹1000 for SC/ST at the facilitation centres themselves. 

They then log in to their TNEA account, pick colleges and courses from the list of options, and submit their choices. There are several rounds of counselling held, and candidates have to enter fresh choices for each round. 

  • Seat Allotment: After each round, DOTE releases the seat allotment results. Seats are allotted based on merit, choice filling, and category. Candidates may either accept the seat or surrender it to participate in the next round. After final allotment, the candidate shall present themselves at the allotted college and complete the admission procedure.
