About Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology: Overview

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) started in 1960 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It was earlier called Maulana Azad College of Technology. In 2002, it became a Deemed University and was given the name Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology. The short form MANIT or NIT Bhopal is now commonly used. In 2007, it was declared an Institute of National Importance. It has 650 acres of campus with a lake.
