Highlights:
The Forensic Medicine department conducts ICMR Student Projects for short-term research work for undergraduates. MGMCRI has, so far, distinguished itself from other institutions in Puducherry by getting the maximum number of projects, many of which have been published in indexed journals.
Scholarships are offered to students based on various conditions at the MGMCRI. These scholarships assist those who have a financial crisis but dream big. The central government offers scholarships to deserving candidates who belong to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, minority communities, or other weaker sections.
The students must belong to the Non-Creamy Layer Category; that is, their family income must not exceed Rs. 4.5 Lakhs or Rs. 6 Lakhs as revised. Also, students who have good academic performance and whose names appear on the merit list are considered for admission. The selection is done in accordance with the Central Reservation Policy and the proportion for each category under internal allocation.
On being selected, the scholarship amount is credited to the student's bank account by the Central Government. In short, if you belong to either a reserved category, whether a minority group or a weaker economic background and have scored well in your studies with the family income within the above limit, you can apply for the scholarship to financially assist your college or university education.
The cutoff of MGMCRI 2025 is yet to be announced, but in the meantime, the 2024 cutoff can be used to make a calculation.
