About IISER Kolkata: Overview

The Indian Institute of Scientific Education and Research Kolkata (IISER) was founded in 2006 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is one of the seven IISERs, and one of the first to be founded alongside IISER Pune. Considered one of the leading research institutes, the public university was promoted to the status of an Institute of National Importance in 2012.

Its main campus, spanning over 200 acres, is located in Mohanpur in Nadia district of West Bengal. NSP (PM-USP) Yojana:

Under this scholarship, students receive Rs. 82,000 per annum. For existing students, they need to obtain at least a 50% score in their university examinations and have maintained at least 75% attendance.

National Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies (UGC):

This scholarship is provided to the first-year postgraduate students, who are under 30, are Indian citizens and are pursuing the program from UGC recognized universities. Under this scholarship, the selected students are provided with Rs. 15,000 for 10 months a year.
