COEP Technological University: Overview

The College of Engineering Pune Technological University, or COEP, is a public state university located in Pune, Maharashtra. It was established in 1854. Placed by the Mula River in Shivajinagar, Pune, the university campus at COEP-TU is among the largest urban campuses in India. It is a unitary university, and hence there are no affiliated colleges. COEP Technological University is the third-oldest engineering college in India and Asia.

COEP Pune offers applications for admission to various professional courses conducted online. However, candidates aspiring to get BTech and MBA courses have to initially apply for the MHT-CET. Candidates who have a valid exam score must also fill in the application form. The steps to apply to COEP are as follows:

  • Step 1: Registration: Go to http://pgdadmissions.coep.org.in/. Enter your personal information to create a Registration. An OTP will be sent to your email. Fill in the OTP to complete your Registration.
  • Step 2: Login & Fill Details: Log in with your registered Email ID and Password. Fill in all the necessary personal and academic details.
  • Step 3: Application Fee: Pay the prescribed fee online through the available modes of payment, such a debit card, credit card, and netbanking.

  • Hostels: Hostel facilities are provided by COEP Technological University for both male and female students. Rooms are equipped with Wi-fi facilities and have a 24/7 water supply with power backup from the generator. The hostel common rooms have a TV, carom and other indoor games. 

Maintenance activities such as cleaning, pest control, electrical repairs, and so on are carried out regularly. Facilities provided include laundry, solar water heating, carpenter and plumber service, and an earn while you learn scheme for needy students.

  • Health Centre: The hostel has a separate dispensary block with visiting doctors. Separate doctors for boys and girls are available, and regular health checkups are carried out for students.
  • Sports facilities: Cricket, hockey, football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and jogging are some of the activities allowed at the gymkhana ground (7 acres) abutting the hostel campus. With floodlights provided for players, it is possible to enjoy basketball and tennis in the evenings.
  • Dining and Others: For day-to-day stationery needs, there is a student co-operative store on the hostel campus. The hostel campus is safe and secure and provides an environment conducive to peaceful study.
