Nationality / Domicile

  • Must be an Indian citizen or a French national residing in Puducherry under the Treaty of Cession.
  • Puducherry residents can claim eligibility under the Government quota.
  • Puducherry residents having Dual Nativity, and already opted Government quota is other State/UT are precluded from applying to the Government Quota.
  • Candidates applying for Management Quotas must be Indian Nationals.
  • NRI quotas have relaxed domicile/family location restrictions.
  • Applicants must submit relevant domicile, nativity, and caste certificates during document verification to avail quota benefits. CENTAC has a clear policy for verifying these documents to avoid fraudulent claims, contributing to fair seat allocation.

Educational Qualification

  • Passed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and one other subject (e.g., Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science).
  • Minimum aggregate marks of 50% (GEN), 40% (SC/ST/OBC) or 45% (GEN-PwD) in the 10+2 (or equivalent) examination.
  • For allied health/nursing, specific subjects/marks are notified.

Age Limit (for some courses)

Typically, the upper age limit is 21 years as on July 1, with a 3-year relaxation for SC candidates.

Must qualify NEET Exam, meet academic/domicile rules. Typically 50% minimum in PCB (40% for reserved categories). 

Paramedical Courses (e.g., BPT, B.Sc MLT, MRIT, DMLT, DDT)

10+2 with main subjects depending on the course (like PCB or PCM). Generally 50% aggregate (40% for reserved). Must include English. 

Other UG Professional Courses (B.Arch, Law, Vocational, etc.)

Q1. Is a valid NEET-UG rank sufficient to get selected in CENTAC?
Ans.
No. CENTAC publishes an initial draft merit list. But, on the basis of NEET-UG score, Domicile Status and Category Reservation of the candidates, a final merit list is published that determines the seat allotment.
