History of CISCE

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) was established by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, on 3 November 1958, at the meeting of the Inter-State Board for Anglo-Indian Education. The Council was set up to help the Syndicate adapt the examinations conducted by them according to the needs of the country. While in 1967, the Council was registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act 1860, about six years later in 1973 the Council was listed in the Delhi School Education Act 1973 as a body conducting the public examinations. The CISCE governs the examination for ICSE (class 10) and ISC (class 12). The examinations are conducted on an annual basis.

CISCE Syllabus

The ICSE and ISC syllabus consists of both external and internal examinations. The internal assessments are carried out by schools on the basis of assignments or project work, practicals, and course work. These marks are then added to your external examination marks and an aggregate percentage is taken of the total. The aggregate percentage will decide if the student has passed or failed the examination. A minimum of 35% is to be achieved by the students to receive a pass certificate. The internal assessment marks are submitted to the Council by the schools.

Previous Year Question Papers

Referring to the previous year's CISCE board exam question papers for classes 10 (ICSE) and 12 (ISC) will always help the students attempt the board exams with confidence. Students will also be able to cover all the portions and get to understand the exam pattern and commonly recurring questions each year for the board examinations. This way each student will be able to know where their strengths and weaknesses are and prepare accordingly.
