NCERT Solutions for Class 10 Maths Chapter 13 Surface Areas and Volumes

NCERT Solutions for Class 10 Maths Chapter 13 Surface Areas and Volumes: Suppose you see a cylindrical container filled with oil. You see, it has three surfaces, in which two are top and bottom, and one is a curved surface. In order to find the amount of oil that can be filled in it, you have to calculate the inner volume of it. Similarly, in daily life, you get to see many solid objects of different shapes and volumes, namely cuboid, sphere, cone, cylinder or be it your favourite Rubik's cube. Or sometimes, the objects might have a combination of various solid objects mentioned above. A very good example is your pencil. It has a shaped cone in the tip and a cylinder in the body. Or if you get bored, you can imagine a new object like a cuboid which has the top like a cone and the bottom like a hemisphere. It's fun, right?

What is even more exciting is that you can convert an object's shape from one to another and determine the surface area and volume of the new object formed. So, there are separate formulas to measure the surface area or its volume with the essential parameters like length, breadth, height, diameter, etc. There are heaps of such examples in the Maths Chapter 13 Surface Areas And Volumes.

Maths Chapter 13 Surface Areas And Volumes gives you an opportunity for learning how to measure the surface area and volume of the solid objects you get to see in your daily life, using the proper formulas given. The solutions are either based on surface area or volume or both by breaking the combination of the objects into a simple one (cone, cylinder, spheroid etc.). The chapter deals with the individual shapes and the combination of shapes. There are problems based on real-life and cost-related problems which are associated with these shapes.
