NCERT Solutions for Class 10 Maths Chapter 14 Statistics

Statistics Class 10 Maths Chapter 14 NCERT Solutions: Statistics teaches us the science of analysing and interpreting data. The concept of statistics determines census data calculation for governmental needs as well as information about varieties of activities.

In this chapter, you will also get an idea of the Mean, Median and Mode of data. Let's say for an example, a1,a2,a3…….an are the observations with x1,x2,x3………xn are the frequencies of those observations, then mean of those data can be represented by the "summation of the product of the observations divided by the summation of frequencies". In a grouped frequency distribution, it is impossible to work out the mode by only having a look at the frequencies.

Mode means a number that appears most frequently in a dataset. In certain cases, we can see that we've to determine the occurrence of something which is more frequent. Maths Chapter 14 Statistics teaches us to find the mode for the set of given data in these cases. That's why we need to know the concept of Modal Class, where we can only locate a class with the maximum frequency.

Median is basically the measure of central tendency for finding the middlemost observation.

Sometimes we face problems if data given to us is ungrouped. You'll learn the mean of the observation, mode and median of grouped data based on real-life scenarios. Maths Chapter 14 Statistics also sheds some light on the cumulative frequency and cumulative frequency distribution and "Ogives", which is nothing but a graphical representation of curves on cumulative frequencies. At the end of this chapter, you'll learn several statistical formulas and tactics to solve the problems that are asked in the board exam.
