1800-102-2727Area related to circles deals with area and perimeter of circles, area and perimeter of segments and sectors, finally, the area and perimeters of combinational figures. The Maths Chapter 12 Area related to circles covers the concepts of perimeter and area of the circle and finding the areas of two special parts known as sector and segment. Areas related to circles are part of Mensuration. It also includes the sectors and their angles between the radii.
The area of a circle is the region occupied by the circle in the 2D plane. It is used to determine the area occupied by a circular field. The perimeter of a semicircle is the sum of half of a circle's circumference and diameter. The sectors are between two radii and adjacent arc.
Maths Chapter 12 Area related to circles further discusses the area and perimeter of a circle:
It is used to find the radii of the circle that covers the area or perimeter of the sum of area or perimeter covered by two other circles, finding the area of rings and also the calculation of distance covered in given revolutions
Area of sector and segment of a circle:
The part of the circular region of the two radii and the corresponding arc is called the sector of the circle. The part of the circular region between the chord and corresponding arc is called the segment of the circle. The segment is divided into a major segment and a minor segment. The sectors are divided into the major sector and minor sector. The area and perimeter depend on the angle subtended by the arc at the centre.
Area of combinations of figures:
This deals with the calculations of areas of various designs using many plane figures and polygons.
Angle of the sector:
The angle of the sector is the angle that is enclosed between two radii.
